Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting my website today.
Newark Schools need immediate action! Just two years ago, a Godbe Research survey showed that 59% of respondents were satisfied that NUSD was providing a quality education. A recent survey shows that number has dropped to 43%. A stable employee base is key to a well-functioning district, yet there has been an alarming turnover of almost 50% of principals, assistant principals and key district office administrators in just two years.
While many of our students are doing well, our math test scores are not where they should be. Morale and communication with the public are low. It is important to promptly respond to public records act requests, yet many requests languish for weeks or months. Brown Act violations concerning the posting and reporting of meetings and agenda items continue to reoccur.
If you agree that these trends need to be reversed and the current direction of the Newark School Board changed, I would appreciate your vote by mail or at the polls on November 8.
With your vote, we can restore sound leadership that develops strategies to raise student test scores, improves transparency, and ensures that new state funds are used to meet the needs of the classroom.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (510) 219-2718 or email me at [email protected].
